Eshay examines a notion of popular culture, peer influence and hero worship. These works focus on a common and pervasive ordinariness, exploring how Australian men seek to define and assert their identity through the projection of lifestyle; from boozing to selfies to cars and woman. Persistent motifs in this form of visual posturing pervade image culture. Eshay questions the banality of these endeavours when considered in an everyday context, sitting in jarring relation to their suburban settings.
